Household Waste Factory is a extension project after the Hakkak Project. In this project the focus is to make a statement of how to develop a way which can fabricate useful products at home using the tools and materials that is closest to your hand and the easiest way to produce. In the final we assessed the possible new applications for our final results.
Recyclable material such as Fabrics, newspapers, Yellow pages, magazines and packaging cardboard. is very common in your recycle bin which contains different quality of fibers. I also collect leaves from my back yard with a vacuum. The sticky rice function as the adhesive to blend with wasted material and then after several different kind of treatments such as heat with a heat gun or bake with a toaster. The different composites in the final turn out to be a variety of appearances with different qualities. Food waste is the most common thing produced by average family day in and day out. Such as Rice as my principle food where there is always some rice left every day. I stock them in the freezer instead of throwing them away. Same way to preserve fruit and milk that is no longer fresh.
It has a very low porosity which can prevents the mould growth and chemical erosion. Sticky Rice compost is 100% renewable and biodegradable material. After
pressed and tossed, it become much more strong and durable.

Sticky Rice Compound is capable to be molded into complex 3d patterns which is a very eco-friendly choice to make 3D tiles for interiors.

It can be used as a kind of “glue“ to repair the cracks on the walls. It also can be used for repair broken wood piece
Consider the short lifespan of the packaging. Sticky rice composite is much stronger and low cost than the traditional polystyrene foam packaging.
