This is the easiest type of welding that suits the beginner very much. MIG means Metal Inert Gas welding. It involves the filler metal to be fed through the wand at the same time gas is spread around it to make the joint from outside elements.
Tungsten Inert Gas welding which is commonly known as TIG is another form of useful welding form. In this welding type, the electrode is not consumed which is made of tungsten. In this type of welding, no filler metal is used rather two metals are welded together easily.
Flux Cored Arc Welding
This type of welding has a great similarity with MIG welding though some differences also exist. Flux Cored Arc is similar because here a wire which works as the electrode and the wand fed the filler metal. But at the same time, the flux core makes a gas shield circling the weld. For this reason, there is no need for gas supply from outside.
Stick –Shielded Metal Arc Welding
It is one of the oldest forms of welding. This type of welding is very popular among the welders for its easiness and low cost. In this process an electrode stick that can be replaced works as the filler metal. The arc has been made and connects other metal from the end of the welding stick to the main metal.
Laser Beam Welding
As you can see its name includes laser beam, you better understand that this type of welding is based on laser technology. This type of welding is usually done on metals or thermoplastics. It is also used in carbon steels, SS, titanium, aluminum, and HSLA steels. This technology is automated with robotics.
Electron Beam Welding
This is a really different type of welding in which a high-velocity form of electrons produces heat by means of kinetic energy and thus joints two materials together.
Plasma Arc Welding
This type of welding has a similarity with TIG welding. By using a smaller arc, it makes the precision of welding. With the help of a different torch, it creates a very high temperature. Thus gas is kept under huge pressure inside the wand to create plasma.
